Ann CT Braunsteiner [b. Austria].

‘to see is to forget the name of the thing one sees’ – Paul Valery

From Bioscience to author to a multi media creative, now based in Nelson, New Zealand.

While her work sees influences from expressionism, neo-expressionism and from post war Austrian artists such as Gottfried Helnwein, her prose, which accompany most of Ann’s work in exhibitions, takes more and more a centre stage in developing new work.

Topics, especially for Solo Exhibitions, are often around current issues of the human condition
and research spans through literature, philosophy, psychology and The Art of Memory, to mention a few.

Ann’s work is owed by private collectors in New Zealand, but at least a good percentage going back to Europe.

Ann is also since mid April 2015 manager of the Refinery ArtSpace in Nelson.
